Leading this edition cover is our Woman of the Year. Year in year out virtually all media platforms in Nigeria are celebrating 'Man of the year'. An award that is dedicated to honour one single person out of over 200 million people in Nigeria. The award may require academic achievement, or on any parameters to select, nevertheless, whatever measure put in place, out of many qualified personality, one identity must be honoured.
Contrary to the general trend of celebrating 'Man of the Year', The Brain Magazine dimmed it fit to celebrate 'Woman of the Year' by selecting a woman of outstanding performance of the decade, in person of Engr. Dr. (Mrs.) Olufunke Olanike Akinkurolere FNSE who was tagged as the transformation catalyst behind Ogun State Institute of Technologys rebuilding. Her account of stewardship and what distinguished her amidst Nigeria Tertiary Institution's Leaders are dissected.
The Woman Segment focus on achievement of the woman piloting the affairs of the Most reputable Non-Government organisation in Nigeria and Africa Tabitha New Life Foundation that cares for widows and widowers Mrs Adunke Olatunji.
Art & Culture segment Featured Mrs Bolanle Austen-Peters, a movie and theatre director, lawyer and founder/managing director Terra Kulture - a Nigerian art and culture centre located in Lagos.
It takes a lot of hard work, patience and dedication with the mass of people and personalities to set up a business in the art industry in Nigeria, it is not an easy task. Bolanle broke the jinx to become the first Nigerian woman to build a private theatre in Nigeria. What a great milestone from a lawyer? hmm!!
The Business Life Africa Segment presents the Observations and recommendations at the Centre for Financial Journalism Bullion Lecture centred on Funding Tertiary Education in Nigeria: Challenges and Opportunities. A lecture delivered by Professor Emmanuel Nnadozie, Executive Secretary, African Capacity Building Foundation (a specialized agency of the African Union), Harare, Zimbabwe which was chaired by Professor Peter Okebukola, former Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission, while Professor Ngozi Osarenren, Department of Educational Foundations, University of Lagos; and Professor Kayode Soremekun, immediate past Vice Chancellor, Federal University Oye, Ekiti, functioned as panelists. Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State was the Special Guest of Honour at the lecture.
Gospel in & Out is another powerful section that featured an orphan who is reducing global depression rate through her music. She comfort the weary with message of hope through her songs with scriptural backup. She is a multi-talented woman of excellence serving in different capacity as an exceptional Educationist, Gospel Mistress, psychologist and business woman. She became an orphan from age four, which was a serious experience one can hardly forget in life. She never had anyone to call real father or mother. She shared her testimony of fulfilment despite the fact that she has no parent.
She was molested emotionally, physically and mentally yet still waxing stronger for God, she is one and only Aduke Gold Ajayi, the Famous Gospel Singer who sang Nitori Ogo.
