Who is a Prophet?
And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.7:8 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, Exodus 7:1
Prophet: Someone who give a vocal expression to the transmission of God.
Prophet of Baal are known as Balaam
It is quite unfortunate that the prophet of Baal are the ones dictating the tones of everything in this age and time across the world.
They use divination to cajole people. Balaam was describe as a soothsayer in Joshua 13:22
Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them. Joshua 13:22
We need to know the difference between a prophet and soothsayer. A soothsayer have a capacity to tell you your name, grandfather even the colour of your pant but that doesn't make him a prophet.
What make a prophet is that, he has a capacity to reveal the things of God. The name of your village or grandfather are not things of God, they are thing of the world.
The body of Christ are not conscious of these people who profess themselves as prophet but in real sense they are soothsayer.
We need to beware of Balaam in our churches who are full of environmental prophesy.
Devil is the greatest imitator. He knows God want to use His genuine prophets to make a change but the devil made available his prophet of baal to hijack many christian from the divine coverage.
Paul was also deceived by soothsayer but because of his spiritual discernment he silence the spirit.
And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: Acts 16:16
The soothsayer are everywhere, in your church, place of work, community, family, neighbourhood. Beware of them!
The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. Acts 16:17
And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. Acts 16:18
Many pastors lacks the power that drive revelation which is discernment. No wonder big men of God endorse a soothsayer as prophet.
Prophets prophesy while diviners soothsay
A soothsayer will say true things that are verifiable naturally but a prophet will say the truth which is Jesus.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
Even if what the soothsayer are saying are true, is it from God Almighty who is the truth.
Many prophets are more of intercessors and may not be know even till death. But a soothsayer must be known because they need higher authority for endorsement. Like what the lady did to Paul who carries the higher anointing.
The security of a prophet is the holy spirit while the security of a soothsayer is a the cartel.
The moment the lady was checked by Paul in acts 16:18 the cartel reacted. Oh my God!
And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city, Acts 16:19-20
And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: Acts 16:21-23
The objective of a prophet is God while the soothsayer objective is gain.
The error of Balaam the soothsayer is greed and false doctrine.
Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. Jude 1:11
Message for new apostles springing up, devil is coming to negotiate with you on that assignment you are mandated to carry out by God.
He will negotiate with money, fame and luxury. If purchased, you have sold your everlasting inheritance.
Have you been negotiated out of breakthrough via the soothsaying of the devil? God is ready to restore you back on track, amen.
Always Beware of Balaam's doctrine church!
But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. Revelation 2:14
So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate. Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. Revelation 2:15-16
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. Revelation 2:17
Four ways to test a prophet
*1. Bible test:* you can use bible to test prophesy but we cannot use prophesy to test the bible.
*2. Fruit Test:* People that sit under their ministration speaks more volume of who they are according to the bible "by their fruits ye shall know them"
What becomes of their followers? Are they filled with immorality, if yes the substance of what is being released is fornication.
*3.Inner Discernment:* This is know as spirit test. The inner testimony, something will not just be right within you as you ponder on experience or encounter with them.
It happens to me most time and at the end God will show me a sign to confirm the discernment.
Don't be ministerially correct when God is not involved. Don't go where God did not assigned you to, you may be injured or die of crossing boundary.
*4.Character base test:* You can't tell me you are prophet and you are a lier. Some are fable fabricator who doesn't think before they lies, everything flows. Isaiah was a lier until he asked God to bridle his tongue.
Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.6:6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: Isaiah 6:5-6
And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. Isaiah 6:7
Some people who are called prophets lies with grace, it flows like spring of water, they will not miss a single letter. They need the touch of the seraphim like Isaiah for cleansing.
If you find yourself under a ministry that says character is not necessary, you are under Balaam guidance (soothsayer) which is tantamount to bondage, you need to come out now! God is ready to save you, again!
